This case utilises a different Vx 'framework' than the ones used in other practice cases. The method of working through the screens is the same.
This personal issue has been adapted from the following NZ Herald article:
www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11303770 I am a physiotherapist employed by one of Auckland's district health boards. Really, our pay is insulting given the hours we are expected to work. We've been offered 0.7 per cent pay increase and no sign of any improvements to provisions for training and professional development.
It's now at the point that if we aren't listened to the physics and other allied health professionals will consider industrial action. We'd likely still undertake some duties but just the minimum.
I don't really want to do this as it potentially places patents at risk. Many people who are due for surgery will need to be rescheduled. As a physio this makes me feel uncomfortable as I feel a strong sense of duty to my patients but at the same time if we were paid more we'd likely do a better job. People like to be valued. So, I'm not sure what is best - best for me, my profession, my patients...
What do you think? Do you think industrial action is the right thing to do?
It is proposed that along with the other DHB health workers my profession should take industrial action
