Should the media publish graphic images of the deceased in its coverage of recent world events?
The MH17 disaster and the war in Gaza are both featuring heavily in the world's press. What is being noted is that the way the media reports on these now includes quite graphic images of the deceased. Many media commentators claim these are much more graphic than we have been used to.

Does the proliferation of social media now mean that the public are now all journalists too and so to complete with the public the press must alter their standards in order for their work to be seen as 'news'?
Has our tolerance for violence changed?
Should world events be sanitised or their reality shown?
