BHSc - To tell or not to tell

BHSc - To tell or not to tell

An 87 year old lady was out for lunch with her family when she tripped down the stairs hitting her head on the handrail on the way down, leaving her in an unconscious state. while she was being treated the physicians found that she has Stage 3 cancer in all of her vital organs, leaving her with no viable treatment plan. Her family was informed of her diagnosis and they do not want any of the medical staff involved with their mothers' case to tell her about the cancer as it will only upset her, as her husband had previous died of cancer a few months ago.
It is proposed that you should follow procedure and inform the patient of her diagnosis.
