Automatic consent for dental treatment
A school dental therapist is working at a low-socioeconomic school where the children need a lot of work done to their teeth but it is very hard to receive written consent back from the parents. Many children are suffering with unnecessary pain and discomfort due to multiple abscesses and many teeth are being extracted due to rampant decay. It is also very difficult to get the children to the dental clinic as some are often away during the week or their teachers are unwilling to send them.
It is proposed that parents should provide consent for any future dental care when registering their children at a primary school
